Staff
Dr. William Garrard
Dr. Garrard is the Director of the Minnesota Space Grant Consortium and Professor and Head
of the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics at the University of Minnesota. He
serves as the Project Director for the MnSGC BalloonSat program.
Greg Nelson
Mr. Nelson is the Staff Scientist of the UMN Aerospace Department. He is in charge of
the electrical design and implementation. Mr. Nelson also serves as the mission manager
for the test flights.
Adam Thoreen
Adam is currently a sophomore in the UMN Aerospace Engineering department and a private pilot. He is curently acting as
flight director and integrates
Balloon
Track with wind data to predict flight paths and landing zone information. Adam also assists Greg with the electrical implementation and
maintains the website.
Karl Icenogle
Karl is currently a sophomore in the UMN Aerospace Engineering department and a private pilot. Karl works on pre-launch equipment preparation including
the launch release and also will serve as Launch Director on future flights. Karl also is working with Adam on developing new landing systems as well as Command Module
housing.
