Welcome to the Mn Space Grant Consortium Web Site
Welcome! The Minnesota Space Grant Consortium (MnSGC) is part of the NASA-Funded National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program established by Congress in 1988. Nationally, Space Grant is a network of 52 university-based statewide consortia (all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico each have their own Space Grant Consortium) with over 1000 affiliates nationwide. Space Grant provides state-based pre-college education, higher educational research opportunities for faculty and students, and informal education activities related to aerospace science and engineering. The mission of the MnSGC is to provide a driving force for aerospace education in Minnesota. Program goals and objectives include diversity, competitiveness coupled with accessibility, ties with NASA centers and enterprises, and relationships with industry and state government. The MnSGC supports a variety of projects including pre-college activities in math, science, and engineering, undergraduate and graduate level research, program development, and fellowships and scholarships for students at its 13 academic affiliate institutions of higher learning, and informal education activities. As of 2011 the MnSGC has awarded more than $1.5 million in scholarship and fellowship support to more than 1000 college students in Minnesota and has supported numerous areospace-related projects and programs involving students at all levels, from K-12 through graduate school. There are many ways in which you may participate in the MnSGC.
