Abstract:

The BAE Systems Precision Guided Munitions group is defining and inventing the future of how the U.S. and its allies defend their borders. This seminar will focus high level on the products developed at BAE Systems Minneapolis and narrow in on the development of precision guided munitions. The technical focus will be on algorithms related to guidance, navigation, and controls techniques and how the GN&C engineering team drives design and facilitates mission success.

Short Bio:

Nick received his Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Minnesota and Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hawaii. During graduate study, Nick worked as a research engineer for the Field Robotics Lab in Honolulu working on mechatronics, navigation, and control of mobile underwater and surface marine robots. Nick has 7 years experience in the aerospace industry including roles at GE Aviation in Cincinnati designing compressor blades for the Passport 20 and GE9X turbofan engines, and most recently at BAE Systems in Minneapolis as a Senior Guidance, Navigation and Controls Engineer on precision guided munitions.
