A Series of Fluid Mechanics Symposia in the Spirit of Tony Perry

A.E. Perry, or Tony, needs no introduction to the turbulence and fluid mechanics community. His death in January 2001 was a shock to us all. A trademark of his work was simple experiments coupled with astonishing physical insight and masterful analyses. The citation for his election as a Fellow of the APS in 1998 read "For physical insights into the behavior of turbulence, structure-based modeling approaches, elegant use of scaling arguments and inspirational teaching".

This series of symposia wishes to both honour the memory of Tony Perry and to capture the inspirational spirit for which he was known.
