SELECTION CRITERIA
Admission decisions are based mainly on:
- A four-year B.S. degree in an engineering, basic science, or mathematics program is required.
- A satisfactory scholastic average, with a preferred grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 if you attended an American university. Read more....
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores are not required for admission, but these scores will be taken into account if they are provided. GRE scores are required for Graduate School Fellowship nominees. Read more .....
- Students whose native language is not English are required to submit scores from one of the following English proficiency examinations: TOEFL,MELAB or IELTS Read more....
- Three letters of recommendation are required by the AEM Department. The letters are used in the evaluation of the your application and also in the financial aid evaluation. Contact three of your professors regarding letters of recommendation. Other recommenders, such as employers, are also acceptable.
- Statement on career objectives, teaching/research experience, and publications.
The Department seeks students with very strong academic records. Students who have already completed a master's program must have exceptionally strong records to be admitted directly to a Ph.D. program. Recommendation letters from faculty members at an applicant's most recent institution of study are recommended.
