AEM 8602. Finite Element Methods in Computational Fluid Mechanics. (3.0 cr; prereq 8601) Finite element methods for time-dependent problems. Stability, convergence, and accuracy concepts; analysis and applications of Petrov-Galerkin formulations for convection-diffusion equations; incompressible Navier-Stokes equations; vorticity-stream function formulation and velocity-pressure formulation; hyperbolic systems, compressible Euler equations.
