Our research focuses on understanding how to control the dyamics of a supercavitating vehicle. Specific research topics include the development of:

  • High-fidelity and low-dimensional models of the vehicle and supercavity dynamics with emphasis on the interaction between the supercavity and vehicle body
  • Stability and performance assessment tools
  • Robust control synthesis
  • Experimental methods to validate vehicle models and controllers in realistic flow conditions
