November 2013 Family Fun Fair

The Rocket Team joined the University of Minnesota’s Math & Science Family Fun Fair this year to teach younger kids about rockets. Some of the high-powered rockets were on display and the kids were able to build their own paper rockets as well. The paper rockets were launched by a pressurized tank and the kids learned what design made the rockets go the farthest.

Summer 2013 Exploring Careers in Engineering and Physical Science (ECEPS)

The Rocket Team participated in the ECEPS summer workshop which offers experience to high school students interested in the math and science areas. It is sponsored by the University of Minnesota College of Science and Engineering.

2013 ECEPS

Students building small-scale rockets to launch from a pressurized tank. The goal was which team of students could make a rocket that could be launched the farthest with making the rockets out of provided materials such as cardboard and paper.

2013 ECEPS2 Fair

The students really worked together to try and build the most optimal small-scale rocket with what knowledge they knew about how to make the rocket the most aerodynamic. It was a very good learning experience.
