Xorient Example

Example Data from CuBe-13 boule:

Angle (deg) 111 Spot 200 Spot 220 Spot
w 21.162 24.387 38.609
c 74.428 32.748 40.968
f 64.95 149.13 94.454
2q 43.806 50.968 74.873

Using the 111 and 220 spots with indices [111] and [110], the results are:

Direction 100-comp 010-comp 001-comp
Specimen Normal 0.611 0.345 0.713
Specimen Tangent -0.332 -0.705 0.626
g = n cross t 0.719 -0.619 -0.316

Specimen directions are shown below:

Where:

It is assumed that the orientation specimen was cut from the boule such that n is along the boule axis positive towards the tip and t is down. These assumptions are only important for the EDM path calculations.

The main window for thes results looks like:

Now continue with the EDM cut calculations.
