Minnesota Middle School Near Space Missions 2011 (AKA MN-MS-NSM-2011)

(flights scheduled May 2011 and May 2012)

Stack assignments -- which 3 schools fly together on Thursday, May 19, and on Saturday, May 21 (weather permitting).

Thursday, May 19, 2011 Launch

Launch site:  Blooming Prairie, Minnesota (ball fields on west edge of town)
Launch time for 2 balloons:  Between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. (if attending the launch, try to arrive before 9:00 a.m.)
Flight:  Payloads are expected to ascend to between 80,000 and 100,000 feet, then land 10 to 12 miles (a very short flight!) mostly due east of the launch site after about 2 hours.

Launch site:  Faribault, Minnesota (middle school on south edge of town, 704 17th Street)
Launch time for 2 balloons:  Between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. (if attending the launch, try to arrive by 8:45 a.m.)
Flight:  Payloads are expected to ascend to between 80,000 and 100,000 feet, then land about 22 miles (a short flight!) mostly due east of the launch site after about 2 hours.
