Professor Zhao Steps Down
Professor Yiyuan J. Zhao is stepping down from his position in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics to pursue other interests.
Zhao joined the AEM Department as an Assistant Professor following the completion of his doctorate at Stanford University in 1989. Over the course of his 23 year career at the University of Minnesota, Zhao has done research in the areas of algorithm optimization theory, air traffic control, multiple vehicle automation, and airborne networks. His work has resulted in 30 journal publications and 48 conference papers. In addition, Zhao has taught, advised and mentored many students at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
The Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics thanks Zhao for his many years of excellence and wishes him the best of luck in all his future endeavors.
