James receives Brown Engineering Alumni Medal
Professor Richard James was selected to receive the 2009 Brown Engineering Alumni Medal from Brown University.
The award was introduced in 1997 as a means of recognizing distinguished Engineering alumni. These medals are awarded to graduates of the Division of Engineering who have established exceptional records of accomplishment in their engineering careers.
The medal, made of silver, has been designed by Walter Feldman, Professor of Art. The medalists are selected by a committee, composed of faculty members and previously chosen medalists.
James graduated from Brown University with his Bachelor of Science in 1974. He went on to get his PhD from Johns Hopkins, and began with the University of Minnesota as a research fellow shortly thereafter. More information on James and his research can be found in his faculty bio.
