AEM Undergrads Win National Boeing Flight Competition

- The competition started in 1995 and is a technical competition for National Society for Black E ngineers (NSBE) undergraduate student members, in which contestants design gliders made of balsa wood. The entries are judged on longest distance flown, best team participation and best design.
Five BAEM students participated on two teams included AEM students Grace Gathaara, Adeniyi Aremu, and Maxime Adjagbe (Team Black Phoenix), and Haftom Dessalegn and Kiki Mentan (Team Numb).
Both teams had successful performances at the event with Black Phoenix winning 1st place and Numb 3rd place.
Two teams from the BAEM program participated in the Boeing National Flight Competition held in Las Vegas, NV each year.
