The evolution of Small Un-manned Aerial Vehicles (SUAVs) is being driven increasingly by the sophisticated need to place sensors in harm’s way.  In the defense industry, this is referred to as “Dull, Dirty and Dangerous” tasking.  The use of autonomous aerial vehicles is not limited to the Department of Defense.  Industry, Institutions and hobbyist are all employing SUAVs to perform tasks that were prohibitively expensive only a few years ago.  This presentation will discuss some of the current and future applications that SUAVs are capable of performing and factors that are driving the development of new UAVs
