The Organic Air Vehicle: Description, Missions and Technology Challenges

Dr. Christine Haissig

Honeywell

Abstract

The Defense Army Research Program Agency (DARPA) and the U.S. Army have funded research on the development of an uninhabited autonomous air vehicle known as the Organic Air Vehicle (OAV). The Honeywell guidance, navigation and control research group in Minneapolis has been fortunate to get funding for a number of DAPRA OAV programs. This seminar will describe the OAV being developed by the Honeywell team; proposed missions for the OAV; and technology challenges for guidance, navigation and (formation) control of these vehicles.
