Frank Elliott

University of Minnesota Libraries

Abstract

Frank Elliott, the library liaison to the Aerospace Engineering & Mechanics Department will demonstrate doing library research in the new online library environment. The demonstration will be accompanied by handouts. Frank's presentation will be especially keyed toward future thesis research, but useful for any literature research needs. Topics covered will include Lumina, the library's umbrella web page; Sciweb, the Science & Engineering Library's web page; using three key aerospace databases; searching MNCAT (the library's online card catalog) and what's available in full-text online. Frank will also review some of the key forms for seeking reference help and for requesting library materials both on and off campus. There will be time for questions and answers.
