AEM 4321 -- Automatic Control Systems , 3 credits

Prerequisites: [4303 or equiv or ME 3281 OR EE 3015], [IT upper div or grad student]

Modeling, characteristics, and performance of feedback control systems. Stability, root locus, frequency response methods. Nyquist/Bode diagrams. Lead-lag, PID compensators. Digital implementation, hardware considerations.

Summary

This course is identical to ME 5281 - Analog and Digital Control and EE 4231 - Linear Control Systems: Designed by Input/Output Methods. It is taught on rotation by AEM, EE and ME faculty and all these courses meet at the same time.

This course provides an introduction to the theory of linear controls.
